Corona-Man
Shacham Rubin, Idan Rom
Corona-Man is an animated tribute to the title sequences of ‘80s and ‘90s animated classics like “X-Men,” “Spiderman,” “Batman,” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Infused with a touch of whimsy and critical thinking, the project asks the viewers which group they would rather identify with. It does not preach or try to educate. Instead, it enables a moment of nostalgic, critical, and satirical reflection on events that affected the whole world. Speaking in an accessible and familiar visual language, the nostalgic animated medium allows for a fresh examination of positions, views, and facts by offering a new prism through which to view them.
