"Collapse" is a contemporary video art project that explores collective and personal human experiences in the face of the crises of the present moment: climate change, impending economic collapse, the breakdown of globalization into a multitude of isolationist, nationalist movements, the collapse of social systems and cultural paradigms, and to top it all off, the collapse of reality itself into synthetic, virtual alternatives. The project invites viewers to examine the processes of collapse taking place in our society through symbolic imagery and artistic motifs from cultures and places that witnessed the collapse of the Late Bronze Age—a major global crisis that unfolded in the 13th–12th centuries BCE.
