Untitled Wing
Guy Hadany
When he was younger, Guy Hadani used to conduct experiments at home. He observed birds and other animals, engines, ballistics—anything that generated movement. He tried to understand the movement's source and figure out how to recreate it himself. What began as an appreciation for the delicacy of movement evolved into a contemplation of its specific qualities, its mechanics, and the technical means by which it is achieved—means that enable its imitation and replication. He began his study of mechanics by contemplating movement as a whole and then gradually moved inward, to the microscopic level, to its tiniest components. In this project, having analyzed the mechanisms of movement down to the cellular level, Hadani has recreated them and timed their operation to create a harmonious multicellular ensemble.
