Taxidermy
Koby Sibony
Manually crafted by bending iron wires, the "taxidermy mounts" in this series look like they were created using design software. The voluminous sculptures create an optical interplay between the tangible and the abstract, the manual and the mechanized.
The technique is manual and involves simple tools, yet the final product is precise and intricate. This teaches us that we can adorn ourselves with the beauty of nature without the need for hunting or killing. A corpse is not needed: a model will suffice.
Thanks to my mother Batya for showing me the beauty in graphics and to my father for introducing me the love for materials.
