NOY
Reddish – Naama Steinbock, Friedman Idan
As humans, we tailor our habitats—our homes—to our sizes, down to the last detail. Our homes are our ecological niches, and we like to outfit them with all the latest comforts. We are accustomed to exercising complete control over our space—from the layout to the objects and animals we choose to share it with.
Similar to intricate works of art whose sole purpose is to "add a splash of color to your dining area," "Noy" adds another layer of domesticity to the concept of "ornamental fish" by transforming them into colorful abstract shapes. In doing so, it emphasizes the complexity of our relationships with our pets, some of whom have been engineered over many years to serve as ornaments and means of entertainment.
