The DAN Department of Creative Human Design, Hadassah Academic College, Jerusalem
The wheat field was sown in a course called "Design Thinkers," led by Ifat Keinan and Liron Peretz as part of the Inclusive Industrial Design Undergraduate Program. The students worked on all aspects of the exhibition both individually and as a group: They interpreted the annual theme in the context of their academic department and its work, formulated proposals for object design, experimented with relevant manufacturing technologies and mastered them, wrote the accompanying texts for the exhibition, designed the space, produced the installation and constructed it.
The result oscillates between imagination and reality, between obscurity and clarity, between observation and action. It creates a space of reflection and echoes environmental, cultural, and political conflicts. We invite visitors to add a layer of clarity and unveil the poetic performance seen through the foggy display window. The choice to take action and expose the installation—or refrain from doing so—exemplifies the relationship between the designer and the viewer, between imagination and reality.
