CARTA PHANTASMA

In this unique collaborative project, a group of architects and designers worked together to document The Holyland Model of Jerusalem, a meticulously handcrafted physical model of the city. The use of modern technology to document the model itself represents the intersection between the old and the new.
The installation "CARTA PHANTASMA" consists of five augmented reality (AR) works that document the model and are viewable on the UNVEIL platform. Each artwork is overlaid on an imaginary physical model of an idealized Jerusalem, one that we will probably never get to walk through. The AR visuals place complex layers of reality on top of the physical model, inviting the viewers to contemplate the act of meta-documentation.
